Founded by Rochester native Zack Buttaccio, Edgemere Coffee is a mobile espresso bar serving high-quality coffee throughout the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. After working at the VA from 2016 to 2024, Zack reached a turning point and decided to pursue what had always inspired him most – exceptional coffee, hospitality and genuine customer service. The result was Edgemere Coffee: a passion project built with purpose, heart and a deep local connection.
Choosing to build Edgemere Coffee in Rochester was an easy decision. This is home. Zack grew up here and never left, even purchasing his grandfather’s house in 2017. The connection to legacy runs deep – right down to the garden, where the same garlic seed his grandfather planted decades ago still grows in the same soil today. That pride in stewardship and continuity carries over into how Zack runs his business.
Understanding the Risk
When Zack first launched Edgemere Coffee, the business was small – just a few weekend pop-ups at a local bookstore. But even in the early stages, he knew that protecting the business would be critical as it grew.
“When I filed my business LLC in May 2024, I really had no concept of what the future looked like for Edgemere Coffee. I was only doing a few pop-ups on the weekends at a local bookstore. But I knew if I wanted to do larger events, I would need business insurance.”
