Specialty Personal Property

Specialty Personal Property Insurance provides coverage for one-of-a-kind items that aren’t necessarily covered by a regular Homeowners Insurance Policy.

Do you own items that aren’t easily replaced?

Do you collect anything valuable?  Specialty Personal Property Insurance provides coverage for one-of-a-kind items that aren’t necessarily covered by a regular Homeowners Insurance Policy.  These items can include jewelry, silver/goldware, specialty collections, musical instruments, and much more.

Does my Home Owners Insurnace cover these items?

Special Personal Property Coverage, also known as Inland Marine Coverage, is purchased to protect specialty personal property items such as jewelry, precious metals, instruments, collections, silver/goldware, and much more.  While your Homeowners Policy provides coverage for personal property, it will limit coverage for specialty personal property items such as those listed previously.  This is why Special Personal Property Insurance is purchased.  It will allow you to list your valuable items for what they are worth based on the sales receipt or appraisal value.  Appraisals of the items could be required as well as photos for proof of value.  Special Personal Property Coverage can either be added to your homeowners policy or purchased as a standalone coverage.  Always ask your insurance professional about anything you think could be insured under this category.
