Boating Checklist

Summer is officially here!  what better way to cool off than a swim?  If your a boat owner, you know the work that goes into winterization.  What many people don't realize until after they purchase a boat is the time it takes to prepare for the summer season.  Fear not!  This checklist will help ensure your readiness for splash down. 

Prior to launch, make sure the check,

1.     Fuel Systems - Check for leaks throughout all exposed fuel components

2.     Electrical Systems - Check for a dead battery before getting onto the water

3.     Fluids, Belts, Hoses and Cables - Ensure all engine components are not deteriorating and in proper working condition

4.     Prop - Remove the prop and grease the shaft.  Check for tied up fishing line

5.     Water pumps - If you have not replace your water pump in the last 5 years, now is a great time

6.     General Gear & Equipment - Prior to launch, make sure all life-jackets, flares and supplies are in order

7.     Trailer - Check tire pressure and brake lights before hitting the road
