In the Spotlight
The Anderson Vanhorne Local Spotlight acts as a chance to give notice to clients who have exceeded customer expectations time and time again. The Spotlight is a short passage about a local business, their services and how they came to be. We hope you find these businesses as tremendous as we do.

Papa Jack's Grill & Ice Cream
Looking for a warm meal on a cold day? How about an ice cream cone on a summer evening? If you answered “yes,” look no further, Papa Jack’s Grill and Ice Cream has you covered. Papa Jack’s is a local restaurant and ice cream parlor located at 261 West Main St in Victor. Operated by long time Victor business owners, Nick and Kathy Cretekos, the restaurant focuses on providing excellent service and delicious food.
Since he was a boy, Nick has been working in the restaurant industry. His father, Jack, owned the Whistlestop Arcade and Cretekos Restaurant, two victor hotspots, opened in the 1970’s. By the age of seven Nick could be found behind the grill. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in restaurant management, Nick and Kathy opened for business in 1986.
“My favorite part about this community is watching kids I see eating with their parents grow into doctors, lawyers and all sorts of wonderful things.” Nick said in a recent interview. “I love seeing some of the same locals every day.”
“With all the development going on throughout Victor, the restaurant market has gotten tough.” Nick stated when asked about the diner’s biggest struggle. In 1986, when Papa Jack’s first opened, there were as few as five competitors in the area. Today, there are 50-60 within a 3 mile radius. Of the five restaurants present in the 1980’s, Papa Jacks is the only one to remain.
